South Bay Bus Rapid Visual Impact Assessment

DESCRIPTION
Part of the SANDAG Regional Transportation Plan, the South Bay Bus Rapid Transit route begins in downtown San Diego and runs to Chula Vista via SR-94, Interstate 805, eastward along Palomar Street, and south on the SR-125 toll road to Otay Mesa, terminating at the Otay Mesa Multimodal station.
As Landscape Architect responsible for the preparation of the Visual Impact Assessment and Simulation Graphics, David Preciado led the effort in preparing a successful report that complied with Federal Highway Administration and California Environmental Quality Act standards by including all research and written descriptions for the existing regional context, landscape units, viewsheds, viewer sensitivity, viewer response, visual assessments, landscape concept plans, urban design plans, visual simulation preparation, project impacts summary, and mitigation measure recommendations that included architectural treatments for bridges and retaining walls.
