SANDAG Pershing Bikeway Construction Management Services
San Diego, California

DESCRIPTION

The Pershing Bikeway Project is a 2.3-mile bike path that is currently under construction and once complete, will connect Downtown San Diego to the North Park and South Park neighborhoods. The project is intended to create a safer and more convenient route for cyclists and pedestrians, while also reducing vehicular congestion and promoting sustainable transportation.

The project is a collaboration between the SANDAG, the City of San Diego and community organizations and is expected to be completed by 2024. Once complete, the bikeway will provide a valuable connection between neighborhoods, promoting active transportation and community engagement. As construction management inspectors on the project, RE Services staff are responsible for ongoing monitoring and reporting daily progress of construction activities that include a new roundabout, new curb and gutters, retaining walls, sidewalks, bike lanes, medians, crosswalks, traffic signals, as well as improved signage and wayfinding to guide users along the proposed route.
