Coast Highway Bridge Replacement at San Luis Rey River
Oceanside, CA

DESCRIPTION

The City of Oceanside is proposing to replace the existing Hill Street Bridge over the San Luis Rey River. Originally built in 1929, the bridge is past its useful life and has since had to contend with structural deficiencies therefore this project proposes to remove the deteriorated and seismically vulnerable existing structure and replace it with a new bridge designed to current standards while minimizing adverse impacts on the San Luis Rey River and surrounding users.

As the Visual Impact Assessment and Simulation Specialist for the planning phase of the project, David Preciado prepared the photorealistic bridge simulations and visual analysis to best quantity the visual impacts from surrounding key viewpoints as experienced from primary, regular users including drivers, pedestrians, and homeowners.
