The Barrio Logan Community Gateway Sign Project was an effort to provide a landmark that honored the rich Hispanic heritage of the community by engaging the residents and utilizing local artists in several workshops during the planning phase to develop a design truly reflective of the surrounding character.

As the Landscape Architect and Design Lead for the project, David Preciado led the design team beginning in the concept phase to develop the materials, colors, textures, and themes. This was followed by the highly technical phase of preparing construction documents that needed to consider both the structural demands and the custom nature involved with the theme. Ultimately, the project was a success for the team and the community.
